Sporting Unity - Overcoming Colonial Legacies through Olympic Education

Project Summary

The Sporting Unity project aims to foster cross-cultural understanding and critical thinking by examining the historical and contemporary connections between Olympic education and colonialism.

 By leveraging the universal values of the Olympic Games—respect, fairness, and inclusion—the project seeks to empower youth and address issues of social justice and inclusion. The initiative incorporates innovative virtual exchange activities, e-learning tools, and facilitator-led discussions, promoting dialogue across diverse cultures. 

Funded with €237,982.98, the project includes seven partners across Europe and Africa, each contributing to the development and dissemination of impactful learning materials and fostering intercultural competence among young participants.
